All Troop Planning Forms for Outings
We explore the unknown

In Troop 284, during our weekly meetings we have a skills lesson, a game, and planning for our upcoming outing. We go on many different types of outings. We strive for at least one per month, and several months we have two outings. We offer something for everyone! There is no mountain we cannot conquer

Every summer, our troop attends a weeklong camp. This is our chance to earn some merit badges and work on rank advancement. We have lots of fun swimming, boating, crafts, science, pioneering, or testing our skills in archery or shooting sports. Most of the time we go to a Boy Scout camp within our state, but we have been to out-of-state summer camps, too.

We attend the Klondike Derby annually in January. The Klondike is a day in the snow where patrols put their skills to use, and compete against each other. The Klondike's summer counterpart is the Camporee, which we also go on every year.

Winter or summer, we know how to survive in the wilderness.

Other outings we go on include snow sports (skiing, snowboarding, inner tubing), snow camping, summer camping, short and long term hiking, fishing, swimming, and canoeing. We are always open for new ideas for outings.

We always remember our community and sponsors.
Once a year in December, the Kiwanis Club, our Charter organization, organizes a pancake breakfast for the community. Our troop serves food and helps during the event. In late Spring, we participate in Memorial Day events and ceremonies at Forest Lawn Cemetary, placing flags on veteran graves. In Spring, we participate in "Scouting for Food". We collect food donations in our neighborhood and deliver them to our local Food Bank.
