WELCOME TO TROOP

Troop 284; Aquilla District; Chief Seattle Council.

West Seattle, Washington

Last Updated:

We are a West Seattle based troop in the Aquila District of the Chief Seattle Council.
Our troop is the fifth oldest, continuously chartered troop in the nation.

In the year 2010, we proudly celebrate our
95th Anniversary!

We currently have 34 scouts in seven patrols and a large group of very dedicated parents and adults who devote their time and talent to help us become good citizens and learn life's most valuable skills. Our Scoutmaster is always ready to listen, encourages us work hard, and makes scouting fun!

If you are a former or current member of Troop 284, we need your help planning this celebration! We have a few folks who have volunteered to help with advertising, mailing lists, troop history display, and slide show. Help is needed with the following:

Overall Coordinator - This person or persons will keep the committees on track and provided guidance if needed.

Speaker/Program - find a speaker(s) and develop the program for the event.

Promotion - Advertise/promote the even to get the word out to the community and Troop 284 alumni.

Alumni Research - Hunting down alumni/former scoutmasters/mailing/email list (set up an email account) - develop mailing/email list and send out invitations. (Marie Guzzardo)

Decorations/Troop History Display - determine theme and table decorations, create troop history display table (Judy Hill, Diane Szender), have scout patrols contribute to the décor.

Slide Show - put together running loop slide show for the scout history table and a shorter show for the program. (Ryan Jacobs)

Refreshments - set up refreshment tables (cake, coffee, punch, nibbles), contact West Seattle Kiwanis for cake donation.
